Douglas Springer Obituary
Springfield, IL—Douglas Donner Springer, 53, of Springfield, died at 8:31 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his residence.
Douglas was born June 11, 1964 in Kirkwood, MO, the son of Donald Donner and Kay Louise Schwaab Springer.
Douglas attended Springfield High School. He was employed as a caterer and sommelier. He enjoyed playing pool and was a regional Marlboro Pool Player Champion. Douglas also enjoyed collecting wine, cooking gourmet meals, and was a lifelong outdoorsman and hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Paula Springer of Portland, OR.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Douglas may be made to The Hope Institute, 15 East Hazel Dell Lane, Springfield, IL 62712.

Remembering all the good times we had shooting pool, you always breaking and everybody else racking. One of the good guys and always had a smile on his face. Life is like a game of pool sometimes, give it your best and if you lose give it your best again. I know that you'll be missed by all that were fortunate enough to have been blessed to call you a friend.

I went to grade school with Doug at Butler School. Haven't seen him in years. May he rest in peace.
