Roma Long Obituary
Roma Marie Long, 91, of Springfield, died at 10:47 PM, Friday, February 17, 2017 at St. John's Hospital. She was born July 18, 1925 to Roman P. and Meta (Horin) Dorr, Sr. She married Ray Long on February 9, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 1985.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mary Anne (Harry) Stirmell and Rae Marie (Patrick) Davlin both of Springfield; two sons, Edward (Elsie) Long of Port St. Lucie, FL and Daniel R. Long, Sr. of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Kelley (Frank) DuBach, Katie (Josh) Davis, Danny R. Long, Jr., Amanda Long (fiancé Robert Parks), Bradley Stirmell, Heidi (Kyle) French, Steven Stirmell, Mark (Megan) Davlin, Matthew (Meggie) Davlin; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe and Gabriel DuBach, Morgan and Luke Davis, Addie Long-Parks, Madelyn Stirmell, and Mason French; one sister, Meta "Betty" Lowery of Springfield; and two brothers Roman P. (Shirley) Dorr, Jr. of Springfield and Ralph (Ann) Dorr of New Berlin and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents and husband.
Roma is a graduate of Lanphier High School, Class of 1943. She retired as a medical secretary for Doctors Allyn, Maher, and Howard. She was also a charter member of Christ the King Church in Springfield.
Visitation: 10 – 11 am, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Christ the King Church.
Funeral Mass: 11 am, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Christ the King Church with Monsignor David Lantz and Reverend Joe Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
