Rosemary Fuchs Obituary
Springfield, IL—Rosemary Fuchs 98, of Springfield, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at Concordia Village. She was born May 14, 1922 in Springfield, to Frank and Rosella Bergschneider Minch. She married Thomas Fuchs on February 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2012.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann (Steven) Steer of St. Louis; five sons, Frank (Denise) Fuchs of Springfield, John Fuchs of Raymondville, MO, Mark (Joanne) Fuchs of Lee's Summit, MO; Lee (Janice) Fuchs of Sugar Grove, IL and Kevin (Rita) Fuchs of New Berlin; daughter-in-law, Cindy Fuchs, of Springfield; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Marr, Marguerite Minch, and Marcella Minch; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Thomas L. Fuchs; one grandson, Efton Fuchs; three brothers, Frank Minch, Jr., Raymond Minch, and Walter Minch; and one sister Eda Frances Johnson.
Rosemary was a member of Christ the King Parish and was a 1940 graduate of New Berlin High School. She was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress and needle worker. Rosemary was also involved with the Altar Rosary Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Tekawitha New Berlin Club, and the New Berlin Women's Club. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and was a loyal fan.
Visitation: 9:30-11am, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Mass: 11:45 am, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Christ the King Church with Reverend Michael Berndt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in New Berlin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish or Concordia Village.
CDC Protocol shall be followed.
