Taylorville, IL—Wayne R. Mahan, 89 of Taylorville passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 7:25 a.m. at Heritage Health Care Center in Pana, IL. He was born on December 15, 1927 in Owenaco, IL the Son of Otis D. and Cleo I. (Durbin) Mahan. He married Dolores H. Turvey on November 19, 1950 in Taylorville, IL. He worked as a Postal Clerk and was a member of the VFW Post #4495 Taylorville and the American Postal Workers Union. Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 11th Airborne. Wayne was an avid bowler and golfer and loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his Sons: Gregory (Barbara) Mahan of Taylorville, William (Karen) Mahan of Taylorville, David Mahan and companion Gloria Sheedy of Taylorville, Evan (Donna) Mahan of Taylorville; Daughters: Maureen Curry of Taylorville, Myra Moffitt and fiance Jeff Boaden of Edinburg, Michelle (Clete) Edwards of Taylorville, IL, and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.

To Ryan and all of the Mahan family, I'm very sorry about the loss of your grandfather.. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but by all indications he lived a very full and productive life. I know you'll carry wonderful memories of him throughout the rest of your lives.
