RUBY FORST Obituary
Ruby M. Forst of Sedro-Woolley was born on September 27, 1918 in Williston, North Dakota, to Emmett C. and Helen (Huseby) Landes.
She entered into rest in Mount Vernon on November 10, 2009 with her Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ & her loving family at her side.
Ruby attended Burlington High School before moving to Seattle, where she graduated from Cleveland High School.
Ruby was best known as an employee of Eckrem's Hardware in Burlington, where she was a retail clerk for many years.
Ruby enjoyed her family life, socializing with friends, working crossword puzzles, birdwatching and many other activities. She was a long time member of the Burlington Lutheran Church.
She entered into marriage with Burl R. Forst in 1939.
Ruby is survived by her loving family; son, Michael L. Forst and his wife Rita of Mount Vernon; daughters, Mary Ross and her husband Lanny of Burlington, Sue Rasmussen and her husband Ivan of Lake McMurray; a sister, Donna Jean Hill and her husband Lee P. of Seattle; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Burl; her brother; and 6 sisters.
Graveside service for Ruby will be held at GreenHills Memorial Cemetery on Gardner Rd. in Burlington on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 1:00 pm. The celebration of Ruby's life will follow the graveside service at Burlington Lutheran church at 2:00 pm the same day. Pastor Michael Swain will be the officiant.
Ruby's family suggests that memorials in Ruby's name be made to the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department Cross Fund.
