Ann Honeywell Obituary

Ann Lusk Honeywell
March 5, 1945 - May 19, 2025
Ann was born March 5, 1945 to James and Mary Lusk at Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas, where her father was stationed at the close of WWII. The family soon moved back to James' hometown, Berkeley California where Ann and her three younger siblings were raised. Ann graduated from the School of the Madeleine, Holy Names High, and Dominican College in San Rafael. She later earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of California at Berkeley. Ann taught elementary school for several years before venturing overseas. There she taught GIs working toward their GEDs at the US Army base in Stuttgart, Germany. When Ann returned to the US, she joined Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Washington DC as a proposal manager. She worked on the largest computer system proposal ever awarded by the US Army. Later in Ann's career, she and two friends started a company, Dyer, Gurin and Honeywell, to teach business communication skills. Their clients included FEMA, IBM, Exon, the CIA and the US Senate.

Ann and her husband, Jim Honeywell, moved to Sonoma in 2001. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling with friends to Italy, Germany, France, and Barbados. They were frequent patrons of the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon.

They often welcomed niece and nephews during school holidays when parents were working. Their home became known as "Camp Honeywell."

Daughter of a children's librarian, Ann loved literature. She was an avid reader and treasured books. She could do the New York Times Crossword in ink.

On New Year Eve 2012 Ann suffered a sudden and catastrophic bleed on the brain which left her unable to speak or walk. She bravely endured multiple surgeries and therapies over the next 12 years and was cared for by her devoted husband. She continued her reading by listening to audio books.

Ann was predeceased by just 4 months by her youngest sister, Elise Lusk. Ann is survived by Jim Honeywell, the love of her life and husband of 43 years, her sister Angela Lusk and brother Michael Lusk. She also leaves behind a niece and two nephews who adored her - Mikayla McVey, Liam and Patrick Godfrey.
