Susan Scott

1949 - 2016

Susan D. Scott, age 66, of Eckerman, went home to the Lord, January 6, 2016 following a short illness in McLean Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. Susan was born October 9, 1949 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Melvin and Doris (Johnson) Lamoreaux.
Susan worked at the post office in Eckerman for 35 years from 1975 to 2010. Susan loved life, reading, cooking (preparing big meals), hosting people in her house and was a excellent seamstress. She was always taking care of others. She was active in the Strongs Community Bible Church. Susan served on the Brimley School board for over 20 years, Chippewa Township Board as clerk and trustee and for over 30 years as a Lions Club volunteer.
Susan was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend.
She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, John Scott. They were married on November 23, 1968 in Strongs, Michigan; sons: Pete (Shellie) Scott, Jeremy Scott, Michael Scott; grandkids: Jarrett, Jaylen, McKenzie, Lilly, and Wylie; one daughter–in-law: Julie (Rick) Blackburn; she is also survived by her mother: Doris Lamoreaux; brother: Kenny (Linda) Lamoreaux; sister: Lois (Kevin) Kenney; mother –in- law, Dorothy Scott; brother-in-law: Paul (Char) Scott; many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by father: Melvin Lamoreaux in 1977, and son: David Scott in 2008.
A visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. The celebration of Susan's life is Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Strongs Community Bible Church with Pastor Stacey Nelson and Benjamin Pent officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Coburn Cemetery.
