William Troy "Bill" Waldon

1951 - 2023

William Troy "Bill" Waldon passed away at the age of 71 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS on September 6, 2023. He was born December 18, 1951 to Troy Waldon and Madge Bennett Waldon in Ripley, MS. He attended Chalybeate School and was a Class of 1969 graduate from Walnut High School. Bill married Barbara Hill Waldon of Falkner, MS and they were married for over 51 years. He worked for Folk/4F Construction for 20 plus years and worked in Sales for Power Equipment Company for 20 plus years. He was a member of the North MS Trail Riding Association and loved wagon riding with his horses, a hobby he started with his father. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing. He respected and loved everyone. His family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him. He attended the Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be September 8, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at 2:00 PM at McBride Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be September 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM at McBride Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Bill is survived by his wife; two sons: Bryan Waldon (Brandy) of Falkner, MS, Burt Waldon (Katie) of New Albany, MS; one sister: Teresa Biggs (Robert) of Falkner, MS; five grandchildren: Austin Waldon (Julie), Blake Waldon (Nichole), Anna Mays (Taylor), Jackson Waldon, Abby Waldon; five great-grandchildren: Ian Waldon, Hazel Waldon, Rylan Mays, Maverick Perry, Boone Waldon.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Officiating will be Rev. Richie Lockhart and Dr. Jack Bennett. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Waldon, Clyde Ray Robertson, Johnnie Mack Dixon, Douglas Payne, Trevor Wilson, Melvin Hill, Steve Bennett, R.K. Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Mercer, Gregg Hamm, Danny Cobb, Tommy Ray, Pat Hodum, Jackie Bennett, David Burgess, Rusty Rogers.
