So very sorry to hear of Annmarie's passing. It truly is beyond my ability to even imagine she is gone. I heard of her loss just today when I mentioned her name to a former Brockton resident.
I went to school with Annmarie from Ellis Brett through BHS, and even though we did not see each other, when the opportunity came at our recent reunion she reached out to me right away. I wish I had more time to talk to her, to know more about her life. She will always be my little Ellis Brett friend, those times were special and so was she.

Last night my son and I were getting ready for bed. We read our books & when it was time to turn out the light we said our prayers. I asked Gus if he knew where Annmarie was and he said, "yes" as he pointed up. I said, "that's right. She's with God & all the angels now.". He went on, "Dear God, please take good care of Aunt Annmarie. We love her.".
We all miss her dearly. I lament of the times we had yet to have, but am ever grateful for the albeit brief time that we did have. My love to her family and friends.

Dear Gillis family,
I know this is a most difficult time. Annmarie was an angel among us. I hope that you can find solace knowing how many people's lives she touched & inspired. And that only a fraction of these people were able to be present during the services. Annmarie's radiant spirit was so uplifting that you couldn't help but feel good just to be around her. Her no nonsense yet compassionate personality has made me a better person. Her love of life (and others) motivates me to be more like that. Words can not express how I feel or how I'd like to offer my sympathies regarding her departure. We must trust in God above that he has a plan, as difficult as this can be, for all of us. And that one day we will all be reunited with our beloved, Annmarie.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

I had the pleasure of becoming quite close with Annmarie, for that I will always be grateful. I, too, am having a hard time saying goodbye. When you meet someone with such a lust for life, as she did, you wonder why they were taken so young. She touched so many people. Everywhere we went she knew someone & she always had left them smiling. Annmarie was a radiant being. Her compassion, generosity and love for others was unrelenting. Her smile contagious, her laugh a beautiful sound. She did lite up every room she walked into & yet she remained as grounded as ever. I am blessed to have known her. She brought a lot of joy & inspiration into my life. Because of this I am deeply saddened by her loss. I know she is among the angels and finally reunited with Bob. For that I am happy for her. I can not offer enough condolences to her family. She always spoke so highly of all of you. And she was grateful of each. My heart goes out to you all. May her spirit live on in our fond memories. God bless you, Annmarie. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Annmarie!! There is a HUGE empty darkness across the street where your light used to shine. I keep hoping that it is all just a bad dream and that I will wake up and see you out there in your yard. We mowed your lawn Sunday night and hauled away the rhodies you were chopping down, just to keep things beautiful like you always made them. Who's going to plant your pansies!?! You were snatched from us too soon. My only comfort is to know your heart is finally at peace. Annmarie was always a caring, loving, and wonderful neighbor.
