James F. Maguire

James F. Maguire Taunton James Francis Maguire, 84 years old, died in Taunton Jan. 8, 2008. Born in Taunton, son of the late John and Annie (Welsh) Maguire and stepson of the late Grace (Greenlaw) Maguire, he was educated in Taunton schools and was 1941 graduate of Taunton High School. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served with the 421 Night Fighter (Black Widow) squadron in the Pacific. He was a lifelong resident and worked for many years for Prudential Insurance Co. and was named "Man of the Year" for the northeastern region in 1963. He later was a self-employed real estate agent. He was a member of the Rotary Club and VFW. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Taunton. He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Meunier) Maguire; and was the father of Donna Maguire of Taunton, Annemarie Maguire and her husband William E. Schuerch of Washington, DC, and James Maguire and his wife Angela Maguire of Scottsdale, Ariz.; longtime companion of Celia Witherell of Taunton; grandfather of Alexander and Allison Maguire of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother of Robert Maguire and Anna Maguire, both of Mattapossiette and the late Eileen Morrissette, Mary McNulty, Estelle Wenho, E. Elouise McBee, John and Edward Maguire. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral on Friday at 10 a.m. from the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Rte. 138 South), Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Marys Church at 11 a.m. Visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment St. Josephs Cemetery.
