Archibald Fulton

Archibald Archie Fulton, age 81, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Sunrise of Braintree, surrounded by his loving family. Archie was born in Quincy, raised and educated in Quincy schools. He was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1950, and later graduated from Northeastern University. He had lived in Braintree for fifty years, previously in Quincy. He was a self-employed civil engineer and worked for Twin Rivers Technologies in Quincy. Previously, he had worked for General Dynamics at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. Archie was proud to have served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War as a teletype operator. He enjoyed oil painting and gardening. He was also well known for his service as a former baseball coach in the Braintree Little League and Braintree Babe Ruth League for over twenty years. Beloved husband of the late Joan H. (Nicklas) Fulton, he was the devoted father of Suzanne E. Wasil and her husband Paul of Braintree, Joanne H. Ellis and her husband Bob of Long Valley, N.J., Gregory A. Fulton and his wife Melissa of Weymouth, Nancy J. Soucie and her husband Larry of Easton and Scott C. Fulton and his wife Camie of Braintree. He was the loving grandfather of eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was brother of Margaret Aldrich of Norwich, Conn., and the late Alexander Fulton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Thursday, May 1, at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment with military honors at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
