Catherine Theresa (Ryan) Howard, age 88, of Marshfield, formerly of Duxbury and Estero, Fla., died peacefully on October 3, 2018, at Newfield House in Plymouth, surrounded by her children. Terry was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, George A. Howard. She was the loving mother of Paula Bramwell Simpkins and her husband Richard of Marshfield, Cheryl Andrezyk and her husband Steve of Braintree, Karen Howard of Pembroke and Robert Howard and his wife Lisa of Kingston. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Elizabeth and Randy Bramwell, Katie and Mark Andrezyk, and Sean, Chris and Andrew Howard. Terry was the dear sister of the late Lou Powers and Jean Hamby; and the loving sister-in-law of Marlene and the late Theodore Howard and Russell and Rachel Howard, all of Marshfield. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Terry was born and raised in Saugus, to Mary Agnes (Downey) and William Ryan, and was the youngest of three girls. She went to work in Boston, upon graduating from Saugus High School, where she met her husband, and was welcomed into his family by his parents Samuel and Anne Howard. They married and lived in Belmont, where they raised four children until 1974. After Belmont, Terry and George settled in Duxbury. After retirement, the Howards moved to Estero, Florida, returning every summer to their home in Marshfield, where they came together with family and friends. Terry was a member of the St. John the Evangelist church choir and the Altar Guild. She had quite an eye for design, evident in her beautiful homes, her award winning floral designs, and her talent as an artist. She was president of her Ladies golf league, and an active leader in the league before and after her presidency. She held an annual subscription to several theatre groups and for many years was lead soprano in choral groups in Massachusetts and Florida. Terry loved to travel and with her husband George, traveled to such far off places as China, Thailand, Japan, Russia, and the Middle East. Terry's family would like to thank the staff at Newfield House for the wonderful care and compassion given to her during the past 2-1/2 years. A celebration of Terry's life will be held October 20, 2018, at 12 p.m. at St John the Evangelist Church, 410 Washington St., Duxbury, with a reception following.
