Emily Zarnoch Obituary

Emily Alicia Zarnoch of Quincy, died suddenly on August 4, 2015. She was the beloved daughter of John and Gwen Zarnoch of Quincy; loving sister of Kyle Zarnoch of Quincy; cherished granddaughter of Eric and Margaret Rothchild of Seattle and Bertha Zarnoch of South Boston and the late Chester Zarnoch; devoted girlfriend of Stephen Cortez of Pepperell. Emily is also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Emily was a lifelong resident of Quincy. She graduated from North Quincy High School in 2009 and from Framingham State University in 2014. Emily was a school teacher for Quincy Public Schools, and was excited about starting a new teaching position at Central Middle School in September. Emily could light up a room with her smile and was well known for her enthusiasm and positive attitude. She was an avid runner and a longtime member of the Quincy Track Club. Emily enjoyed reading, paddle boarding and dancing. She was a member of the Framingham State Dance Team. Most of all Emily loved her friends and family who were the cornerstone of her life. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday 2-6 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. Funeral service will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Central Middle School, 875 Hancock Street, Quincy. Cremation will follow. Donations in memory of Emily may be made to the Emily Zarnoch Scholarship Fund, C/O 15 Colonial Federal Savings Bank, Beach Street, Quincy, MA 02170. Emily was my son, Thomas's, reading teacher at Central Middle. He says Miss Zarnoch was one of his favorite teachers at the school and was looking forward to having her as his reading teacher again in September but now can only miss her.
