Joseph Jaymes Obituary

Joseph A. Jaymes, 96, of Scituate passed away on March 17,2017. He was born in Boston, graduated from Dorchester High School and Northeastern University. He was the loving husband of the late Marie (Stern) Jaymes for 50 years. As a printer, he worked at the Recording and Statistical Data Company until joining the U. S. Patent Office in Washington, D.C. He proudly served during WWII in the 28th Army Division, awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the Ardennes Forest, and was in the second wave of the Normandy invasion. He and Marie spent their retirement years in Scituate, Ormond Beach, Fla., and traveling. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards and golfing with friends and family. He is survived by his two sons Joseph A., Jr. and his wife Cindy and Andrew S.; 4 grandchildren Alicia, Jonathan, Carolyn, and Samantha ; 7 great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a friend Gloria. He was predeceased by a grandson Joseph A.,III. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to any charity helping Disabled Veterans.
