Joseph W. Tantillo

Joseph W. "Joe T." Tantillo of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, after a brief illness. Born in Quincy Mr. Tantillo was the loving son of the late Anthony & Delia Tantillo. He served as Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Stetson Shoe, Regal Shoe, Native Footwear and Stacy Adams as a hand stitcher before starting his own carpentry business with his son Ricky, known as Tanco Construction for the past 45 years. Joe was a quick learner, there was not much he could not do. He also tended bar at local restaurants in and around the Boston area for many years. Joe loved to country dance, then he learned how to ballroom dance as well, he loved to plant in the garden and tend to his roses bushes of over 50 years old and loved going out for breakfast. Joe lived life to the fullest and did it his way, it was all good. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed. Mr. Tantillo is survived by his son Richard Tantillo and his wife Wanda, his daughter Donna Gulizia and her fianc Stephen McCord, grandson Derek Gulizia & his wife Marie, and two great-granddaughters Alita and Olive Gulizia. He was the dear brother of Angelina "Tootsie" Tantillo, Marion Tantillo and the late Anthony "Jimmy" Tantillo, Mary "Lindy" Maloney and Domonic Tantillo. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, great- nephews and great-nieces. Funeral from the Bolea- Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy, on Monday, February 22 at 9:45 a.m. Followed by graveside service in Calvary Cemetery, 99 Cary Street in Brocton at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
