Robert A. Cavallini

Robert A. Cavi Cavallini, 86 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to South Boston where he graduated from South Boston High School. He subsequently graduated from Northeastern University, Boston. He became a mechanical engineer. During the Korean conflict he served with the U.S. Army. He worked as an engineer for Federal Government Department of Defense (Dept. of the Navy). He was employed at the Charlestown Navy Yard. Bob was an active member of the Quincy Y.M.C.A. He belonged to the Racketball Club at the Y.M.C.A. He resided in Braintree for the past year and was formerly a resident of Mansfield for 30 years. He was the beloved father of Roberta L. Coady of Weymouth and her former husband Michael Coady. He was the loving grandfather of Christopher Cavallini of Tampa, Fla., Nichole Coady of Braintree, Arielle Reitsma of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ginelle Campos of Weymouth. He is survived by his sister, Della Mele married to George Mele of Braintree and by their two sons and a daughter. Bob is also survived by his former wife, Nancy (Cogliano) Cavallini of Braintree; and by his lifelong friend, Jerry Guarnotta of Wollaston. He was the son of the late Harry S. Cavallini and Santina Sadie (Raimondo) Cavallini. There will be visiting hours at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., Braintree, Tuesday, June 16, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at which time there will be a Catholic prayer service at the funeral home.
