Robert P. Mattie

Robert P. Mattie of Quincy passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at age 75. Raised and educated in Braintree, he lived most of his life in Quincy. A sheet metal worker at the General Dynamics Shipyard, Bob was a member of the Adams Heights Men's Club. The beloved husband of Arlene P. (Crowley) Mattie, he was the loving father of Mary E. "Marybeth" Abdallah and her husband Fred and Robert J. Mattie and his wife Karen, all of Quincy; dear grandfather of Aiden James and Amelia Grace Mattie; brother of James Mattie of Braintree and the late Richard Mattie and Anita Mattie; brother-in-law of Catherine Moynihan of Framingham; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 550 Washington St., Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
