Thomas E. Joyce

Thomas E. Joyce WEYMOUTH Thomas E. Joyce, of Weymouth, a retired bus driver for the MBTA, died on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Harbor House Nursing Home in Hingham. He was 83 years of age. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in South Boston and had lived in North Weymouth for 49 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and had worked for Boston Edison in earlier years. Mr. Joyce was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed walking. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Joan A. (Doolin) Joyce, his loving daughter Joan Marie Joyce of Weymouth and devoted sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and William Doherty of Quincy. Loving brother of the late Mae Flaherty, Peg Mazzeo, Catherine Farren, Bessie Trainor and Barbara Garrity all late of South Boston. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral from the NORTH WEYMOUTH McDonald Funeral Home, at 40 Sea St. (off Rte 3A at Bicknell Sq), Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in the St. Jeromes Church at 10:00.
