Charles "Chuck" R. Huggins was born in Metz, WV on October 19, 1934. "IT'S HARD TO BE HUMBLE WHEN YOU ARE FROM WV" . He passed away at his home in Spokane, Washington on November 27, 2017. Chuck spent his early years in WV and entered the US Navy after his school graduation. He served in active duty and Naval Reserves until 1978. Chuck was a real estate broker in the Spokane area for many years. He worked at a few agencies until founding his own agency, Suburban Properties. In 1986 he and his wife Kathy moved to Chicago to be near their families. Chuck was a truck driver in the Chicago Metropolitan area for 15 years until his retirement. He and Kathy moved back to Spokane in 2005 to be closer to family. Chuck had many hobbies: restoring classic cars, genealogy, estate sales, gardening and he loved spinning a good tale. Chuck loved his family and friends and spending time with them. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son Scot (Trudy); grandchildren Katrina (Eddie), Nicole (Matt), Crystal, Jerromie and, Lindsay; 11 great-grandchildren and one due in the spring; his brother Kenny (Lois), sister Lottie (Fred) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Ron, his parents Arnold and Genevieve (Lemley) Huggins, brother Melvin and sisters Airetta, Betty and June. Interment will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington on Monday, December 4th at 1:30pm.
