David DIXON Obituary

DIXON, David B. "THAT'S ALL FOLKS!" David was born May 25, 1953 in Colville, WA, and left us on July 15, 2013, at beautiful Coeur d'Alene River in Kingston, Idaho. David grew up in Colville and graduated from Colville High School in 1971. He was the "most skilled" finish carpenter around and worked for many general contractors around the area, as well as his own businesses. David was an outdoorsman to the max. He very much enjoyed camping, hiking, and taking his snowmobile out, just being outdoors in general was a great pleasure to him. He took everything in and enjoyed relaying his knowledge to anyone that was with him. He was well known for his caring personality, hilarious sense of humor, and numerous "Dave-isms" such as "s**t and fall back". A great friend, son, and altogether good person who was honest to a fault and was not afraid to fight for what was right. He was a devout cat lover and very much missed his two favorite feline friends, Buckwheat and Howie. Dave is survived by his son Christopher Sphuler, brother Ron Dixon, Colville, WA and Sister Donna Cromeens, Denver, CO. He will also be greatly missed by his dear friends who considered him family, Phyllis Dunlap, Rob King and Dawn Zoesch and their children, Ashton and Karissa, and the infamous Mr. Johnny Carter. Rest in peace our friend, in the arms of your loving mother and other loved ones. We will miss you terribly but know we will see you again. Until then, we look forward to your ceiling hugs! At his request, no services will be held. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to St. Labre Indian School, 1000 Tongue River Rd., Ashland, MT 59003, 866-753-5496.

Time was too short for my favorite younger bro! I am glad he was doing what he honestly had a passion for...the outdoors! He will be missed so much by myself, who didn't get to say good-bye.

David, you were the little one who wanted to tag along with the big kids. You were often the first one found in hide and seek, because you always peeked. It was such a thrill, when we visited your Mom, to have you three kids run out to greet us. My best favorite moment with you was a few years back when Mike, Dad, Jim & I came to visit you. A great time of sharing memories, political views and laughter. We'll miss your caring tenderness and loving eyes.

Some of my very best childhood memories was the hall closet filled with board games at Auntie Ruth's (Dave's Mom). My favorite.....Cooties! Also, gathering eggs in the chicken coop, hanging out in the hay loft and hiking in the woods with Dave.

I had a crush on Dave in the forth grade. Dave's handsome look, quiet smile, and gentle spirit will be what I remember.
