David John STANDAART

1955 - 2022

On October 12, 2022, with deep sorrow, we said farewell to our dear brother David John Standaart whose now in the hands of God. He was born on September 24, 1955, in Yokohama, Japan.

He grew up in Spokane, WA and attended the University of Idaho. David received his A.I.A and earned his MBA from Regis University. He worked for the city of Renton and then Seattle. During his time as Capital Project Manager for Seattle Public Schools, he solved unique challenges such as the custom design sports lighting of Roosevelt High School, and track & field lighting improvements at historic Garfield High School.

David was a caring and intelligent person, fearless in all of his pursuits. In his youth he trained in Judo and Karate. He also enjoyed motorcycles and spending time at the lake cabin. Later, he loved fishing, concerts, traveling, and discovering beautiful architecture.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Mariko and John Standaart; and is survived by sisters, Donna Pupo (Paul), Ruthie Standaart-Pupo (Joseph), Linda Standaart; and brother, Stephen Standaart (Linda Lou); as well as nephews and grand-nephews.

Memorial Service will be held on December 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Sunset Hills Funeral Home. 1215 145th Place SE Bellevue, WA
