Edwin Robert PAYNE

Edwin Robert Payne (85), went to be with his Valentine on February 14th, 2022. A lifetime resident of Spokane, Wa, Ed was a graduate of North Central High School and served his country in the United States Army.

Ed married his sweetheart, Nancy, in 1959; and they were happily married for 57 years.

Ed worked for his fathers company as a refrigeration repair technician before owning his own business 'Kold Flo Refrigeration'. He then went to work for Spokane Public School District 81, where he worked for 36 years and retired in 2006. Ed is survived by his sister Patricia McNemar (Kennewick, Wa), his 5 children; Bob Payne (Colfax, Wa), Virginia (John) Clemens, Dan Payne (Wenatchee, Wa), Michelle Winterroth and Susan VanWormer; 16 grand children, 10 great grandchildren and several cousins.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife Nancy (2017), his mother and father Jack and Ethel Payne, his son-in-law Scott Winterroth, his cousin Jerry Haslett and many good friends and family members.

Ed was loved by all, and his smile could bring sunshine to anyone's day. Everyone used to say that "if Ed didn't tease you, he didn't like you".

Ed will be greatly missed by anyone who was touched by his whit, his sense of humor, his teasing manner, and his awesome personality.

A memorial/celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Kalispel Golf and Country Club, 2010 W Waikiki Road, Spokane, Wa 99218. ALL ARE WELCOME.
