Janet FENTON Obituary

Jan "Janimal" Marie Fenton was born on September 29, 1959, in Spokane, Washington. Jan attended University Elementary, Bowdish Junior High, and University High Class of '77. Jan then attended the University of Washington and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. Upon graduation, Jan returned home to be close to her parents, Stanley and Ruby Hrusa. She spent time with the two of them traveling to such places as Hawaii and Arizona once they retired. Jan and her parents were very close and spent a lot of time together.

Jan enjoyed and excelled in a very extensive career in the insurance industry throughout her life. She was especially proud to serve as a commercial insurance broker with Moloney + O'Neill, from 1984 through 2019. She received a lot of respect when representing the firm, and she was always very proud of the agency and their clients. The Moloney + O'Neill family will miss her dearly.

Jan is survived by her brother, Jay Hrusa and wife, Ramona; her niece, Heather and her husband, Andrew Chapman and their children, Kadyn, Skyler, and Maya; and her nephew, Jason Hrusa and his wife, Kristen and their children, Kyle, Mason, Jocelyn and Evelyn.

Jan is also survived by her significant other, Jeff Taylor; her sweet kitty cat, Lotus Flower; and Jeff's cat, Siam. Jan and Jeff met on February 24, 2004, and became very close and were each other's best friends and soulmates. Over the years, they always managed to help each other with life's events.

Jan was an avid shopper of clothing, and her favorite spot was Nordstroms where she met and became very close friends with Parnel. The girls used to trek the Wine Country in Northern California from time to time, hang out at music venues, and take road trips to Montana. Parnel and her beau Vic helped Jan update/design her niche at her South Hill home. Jan maintained a very cordial but comfortable abode. Jan also had quite a few neighbor friends over the twenty years that she resided at her home. Jan liked to entertain and her "postage stamp" patio, as she liked to refer to it, always managed to have many friends and neighbors occupying the area. Her BOSE portable stereo playing, outdoor fireplace going, plenty of food and drink for all.

Both Jan and her dad had a fascination for nice cars. Stan's last car was a gloss black Pontiac Bonneville. Jan enjoyed sporting around in her Ford Mustang, Honda Civic, Datsun 240Z, Pontiac Firebird, Pontiac Trans Am, and finally a rocking Chevrolet Corvette convertible. At that point her winter car was her TA with snow tires and her summer car was the Vette convertible! Then she discovered 4WD when she borrowed Jeff's truck and bought a Jeep Liberty and then a gorgeous, fantastic Land Rover!

Jan was an avid reader, gardener, helping out around her Homeowners Association, traveling, watching a great movie, and had a very eclectic taste in many genres of music. She attended many musical concerts over the years and was an avid Heart fan. She also loved to travel; her favorite journey was to a little island called Aruba.

Jan passed away peacefully, unexpectedly in her home. Funeral services and a celebration of Jan's life will be announced at a later date.
