MOYNAHAN-
JOHNSON,
Pamela Sue
August 3, 1961 -
November 27, 2016
Pam passed away in hospice surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Pullman, WA to Jay Moynahan and Sue (Holter) Moynahan. She attended school in Pullman and Cheney, WA and graduated from Cheney High School in 1979. One of her great joys was spending summers with her Grandmother Holter at Diamond Lake, WA. After high school Pam worked at various jobs on horse racetracks in the northwest, ultimately becoming a veterinarian's assistant at Longacres Racetrack. She later worked at CLG Employer Resources (North Bend, WA), started by Jim Rivetts and later taken over by his daughter, Holly Hahn. Pam's employer and fellow workers became like family and supported her both professionally and personally during her cancer treatment. Pam helped organize her 30th Cheney High School reunion in 2009, but it was at a mini reunion in April of 2011 that she met with former classmate Dan Johnson. They were corresponding by social media since January of 2010 after the passing of Dan's mother. They soon discovered they were soul-mates. Pam and Dan were married in Kauai, HI in July 2015 and Pam moved to Spokane to live with Dan in December, along with her cat Ned and his dog Buddy. Pam was preceded in death by her Holter and Moynahan grand- parents, her aunt Anne (Holter) Richert and cousin Jason Richert. She is survived by her husband Dan; mother Sue Holter (Chris); father Jay Moynahan (Cinde); sister Judy Moynahan (Marcell); aunt Kasey Hawkes (Ginny); uncle Roger Richert (Rosemary), and many cousins. Pam was known by her family and friends by her willing ear and enigmatic smile. She was always positive and very compassionate. She had a BEAST MODE attitude towards helping others, her health and life in general. Pam loved Hawaii and The Aloha spirit...she lived Aloha. She particularly loved a very special beautiful sandy beach on Kauai where she and her husband Dan got married. She loved boating on CDA Lake, she loved to take drives to wherever the road took her and Dan. She loved all animals and people. She loved life. We wish to thank the many friends who supported her with good wishes, warm thoughts and prayers and gave her much comfort. The family also thanks doctors and staff at Overlake Medical Center, Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane Valley Cancer Center, and Hospice of Spokane for their care and compassion. Pam was dedicated to helping those in need, particularly the Oglala Lakotas on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. To continue her support, please consider a donation to the Pam Moynahan-Johnson Memorial Fund at Inland Northwest Bank, 2905 E. 57th Avenue, Spokane, WA 99223. All funds will be donated to those in need at the Pine Ridge Reservation. A Celebration of Life for Pam will be held in the spring.
