News Death Notice
LAUGHREY, Eric Wilson 19, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, January 11, 2009. He was born October 4, 1989 in Kissimmee, Florida, the son of Eric Gene and Kim (Counts) Laughrey. Eric was a four year starter for the Tecumseh High School baseball team where he was a pitcher. He loved baseball and was a 2008 graduate of Tecumseh High School. Survivors include his father and step mother; Eric and Dianna Laughrey, Springfield, a sister; Felicia (Randy) Williams of Columbus, a step sister; Jill Graham (Lee Caudill Jr.) of Springfield, two nephews; Chase Gannon and David Graham, grandparents; Tom and Janice Laughrey of Florida and Roberta and Kevin Tobias, several aunts, uncles and cousins and many many friends. He had a special love for Lisa Stephens. Eric was preceded in death by his mother Kim and step sister Brandi Graham. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Kyle Young officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh High School baseball program.

Shocked and saddened to find out about Eric. What a wonderful son and friend.He was just a baby when Kim and Eric came into my life. He always had a smile on his face. It gives me great comfort to know that he is again with his mom.He will be forever missed. Love and prayers to the family.

I was so shocked to hear of this. I first met Eric back in 8th grade at Olive Branch MS and we hit it right off as friends. He was always there to make your day better and I couldn't have asked for a better friend. My love and prayers go out to his family and friends. I can truely say that Eric will always have a special place in our hearts and we all have some great memories to cherish.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Eric. My boys were blessed to grow up with Eric as well as I was to have him spend so many nights with us during his younger years. He truly was a born comedian. Eric was just like a son to me and a brother to Nick and Dustin. We will cherish the fun memories that we have of Eric.

I’m sending my prayers to you, wherever in heaven God has you now…I find comfort in hoping that you’ve now found a piece of heavenly countryside in which to reside with your mom. Your laugh, your smile and your spirit will be deeply missed by those whose life you touched but your memory will never be forgotten. Eric, it was a pleasure to be around you every baseball season and in the classroom. I still laugh everytime I think about you sprinting after the foul balls by the backstop during games.
