Harry R Schanck, 88, of Manchester, NJ died Saturday, June 7th at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY he lived in Stamford, CT since 1957 before moving to Manchester less than a year ago. He served honorably in the Navy as a radioman, seeing wartime duty in the South Pacific. After the service, Harry attended Champlain College in NY before graduating from Rider College in 1950. He worked as a pump salesman for various companies before retiring from the Barish Pump Company a little over twelve years ago. He was a member, and past Master, of the Freemason Union Lodge 5 in Stamford, CT and also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and was very actively involved with the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford, CT. He was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and especially enjoyed the family summer vacations at the Jersey Shore. He is predeceased by his loving wife Eleanor, his parents, Harry S and Gertrude Schanck, and his son Theodore. He is survived by his son Andrew of Manchester; nephews Kurt Ehrlich ( and wife Pam ) of Middletown, NJ, Curt Fehr ( and wife Connie ) of Allentown PA, Eric Fehr ( and wife Sue ) of Greensburg, PA , Alan Fehr ( and wife Barb ) of Uncasville, CT and her nieces, Taina Gluck ( and husband Bruce ) of New Milford, CT, Kristina Ehrlich of Newtown, PA, Barbara Baker ( and husband Buzz ) of Donnelly, ID, as well as many grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
