Cyboski,Sr., John J.
John J. Cyboski, Sr. 70, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at Stamford Hospital. He was born on November 2, 1944 in Stamford to the late Joseph M. Jr. and Dorothy M. Burke Cyboski.
John was employed as a sheet metal worker for the Local #38 in Brewster, NY until his retirement in 2003. He was also a member of the Stamford Power Squadron and a veteran in the US Army.
John is survived by his devoted wife Susan C. Tompkins Cyboski, his loving children Monique S. Cyboski, John J. Cyboski, Jr. and Nicole K. Cyboski all of Stamford, grandchildren Ashley A. Telesco and Courtney A. Cyboski, his aunt Marie Burke of Norwalk, brother in laws Peter Sorbo of Darien, James R. Tompkins and his wife Patricia of Port St. Lucie, FL, a sister in law Sharon Bellantonio Cyboski of Stamford, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brothers Joseph M. Cyboski, III, Thomas J. Cyboski and a sister Carol A. Cyboski Sorbo.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 10:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary's RC Church,566 Elm Street, Stamford at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, 761 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851 or to a charity of one's choice.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Stamford Hospital and the Stamford Hospital Infusion Center for the wonderful care that John received.
