To Lou's Family,
I had the pleasure of serving on the Fiske with Lou. We formed a six piece
band. I played trumpet and Lou played drums. When we would pull along side of a carrier or another large ship we would open up with"When the Saints come marching in". We had some great times overseas together. I remember one day he got zapped working on some equipment. He really hurt his hand but kept on working until he finished the job. He was one heck of a guy. Every once in a while i look into my 1961 Med cruise book and see his pictures in the band.I am just so happy that I got a chance to speak with him after so many years about a year or so ago. He was one great guy. His family is in my thoughts during these tough times. Lou (rest in peace )

To April and Lou's Family, I did not know your Dad, but we were shipmates in the truest sense.

There is a bond between all who served aboard our beloved FISKE regardless of when we served - because we had "her" in common. I was aboard in the late 70's just before she was sold to the Turkish Navy. The other bond I share with your Dad, like Gil, was that I was also an ET and worked on the SPS 29 Air Search Radar while aboard.

I send my deepest sympathy and condolences to you in this time of need. Please be assured that all of us who served on the Fiske honor your father for his service to our country. God bless you, and may your father always rest in peace with calm seas and fair winds.
