Martin Waters Obituary

Martin D. Age 71 of 1003 Center Street Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday June 20, 2005 after an extended illness. Mr. Waters was born on March 8, 1934 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Joseph and Madeline Newman Waters. He was a retired Police Officer with the Watkins Glen Police Department and he managed Smith Park in Hector for 8 years and most recently was a Security Guard. He was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. He married his wife Florence M. Cannavino (Ottavino) Waters on November 25, 1963 and they recently celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary. He was pre-deceased by his parents; brothers: Joseph and James Waters and sister: Joan Pickering. Mr. Waters is survived by his wife Florence M. Cannavino (Ottavino) Waters; children: Michele and Jeff Ervay of Horseheads, NY; Michael Ottavino of Horseheads, NY; Robin and Doug Yost of PA; Scott and Karen Waters of FL; Todd and Kelly Waters of FL; several grandchildren including two special granddaughters: Meghan Ervay and Valerie Ervay who were "Grandpa's Little Girls"; brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Joan Waters of Vero Beach, FL; Tom and Helen Waters of Horseheads, NY; Sharon Waters of NJ; brother-in-law: Clair Pickering of Millport, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends including a special friend and neighbor Ernie Hartman. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Thursday June 23, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mr. Waters' Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday June 24, 2005 at 10 AM with the Rev. Christopher E. Linsler officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
