Robert Wrigley Obituary
Age 91 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Thursday June 11, 2015. Bob was born October 22, 1923 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Garnet and Edna Strouse Wrigley. He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country with The U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed hiking and traveling in the National Parks. He was a retired Lineman/Installer for New York Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Robert was predeceased by his parents; wife Margaret; son John Wrigley; granddaughter Bridget Beyer and sisters: Ruth Haskins, Doris Boyd, and Mary Kracht. Mr. Wrigley is survived by his daughter: Mary Beth Beyer of PA; devoted and loving companion Carolyn D. Conwell and family of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Michael Beyer of PA, Robert and Rebecca Beyer of VA; Joshua & Lynn Wrigley of CA, Robert J. Wrigley of VA, Shani Wrigley & Augustus Trick of FL, and Ryan Wrigley of VA; great grandchildren: Ryan John Beyer of VA; Kaiya and Jayden Wrigley of CA; Stella Wrigley, Skye Wrigley, and Hailee Wrigley all of VA; sister: Alice Smith of Horseheads, NY; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Betty and M. Joseph Danaher of Horseheads, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. It was Mr. Wrigley's wishes that there be no calling hours or services. Bob will be laid to rest in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY. In lieu of flowers those wishing may remember Bob through memorials to The Vincent House 310 Second Avenue Wayland, NY 14572 or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY.

Dear Mary Beth and Family,
So sorry to hear about your Dad, a favorite of the Hillbrook kids, some 36 in 12 houses: Kings, Hughes, Nelans, Atkins, Daileys, Minches, Bartholomews, Wrigleys, Connellys, Creightons and Graners. Cut that huge lawn with a mechanical mower. Joined in our antics, games, participant in the World Series pools, subscribed to the neighborhood newspaper. I remember well how thrilled your folks were when you and John Clancy joined their family. May good memories warm you, and ease your loss.

Bob, self named Boob, was one fantastic FOY (and many other parks) camper! Helpful, loyal, sharing/giving, appreciative and one fantastic horse shoe pitcher. A wonderful friend, he'll be missed and remembered forever, by us.

Mary Beth and Family and Friends, I have wonderful memories of Mr. Wrigley hosting a block picnic in the backyard, watching him play baseball across all of our backyards, keys jingling on a chain as he ran to catch fly balls, and calling "Annie getcher gun" to my sister (who then got mad, making him smile wide; she was 3). My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, and I've asked my son Eric to look for Mr. Wrigley in heaven because what fun to think that now he can teach my Eric how to play baseball.
