Rosemarie Barnstead Obituary

Barnstead, Rosemarie

Age 81 formerly of 762 Thompson St. Southport, passed away Thur. Dec. 18, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital. Born on June 29, 1933 in Wilcox, PA; Rose was the daughter of the late Michael & Pauline Repko Pavlina. She married Robert Barnstead on Aug. 16, 1958 and he predeceased her on Dec. 20, 2012. Rosemarie graduated from EFA. In earlier years, she was employed by local movie theaters, Woolworths Dept. Store, and B&T Video. A homemaker, Rose loved caring for her family, her home and time spent with family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Her interests included reading, jigsaw puzzles, shopping, and was active in the Southport Fire Dept. Auxiliary. Surviving are her sons, Steven (Susan) Barnstead, Big Flats; and Robert (Cheryl) Barnstead, Newport News, VA; two grandchildren, Olivia and Liam; brother, Michael (Patricia) Pavlina, Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Pavlina, Elmira; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Rosemarie was predeceased by a brother, John Pavlina and a sister-in-law, Joyce (George "Jim") Hickey. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport/Elmira on Mon. Dec. 22, 2014 between the hours of 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:15 p.m. Interment will take place at the family's convenience in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.

Steve and family, So sorry to hear about your mom's passing. She was always so nice to us Stowell kids. She put up with a lot with all of the neighborhood kids running around, Cedar, Thompson and Spruce. God bless
