I did not learn of Carol's passing until several months ago (5ish years thereafter) . We had last talked by phone several years before. Carol and I were both professors in D.C. (I moved away in 1995) and exhibited in the same Dupont Circle gallery. We shared similar aesthetic tastes, so naturally, we we good "art buddies". In the Washington Review she wrote a glowing review of a one-person exhibit I had. I was forever grateful. She was a generous and dear person. The old saying, "they don't make them like they used to" comes to mind.

We were Mabel Temple's neighbors for many years. She often spoke of Carol and her visits to her. She was very proud of Carol. Somehow I missed that Carol was an artist as Mabel was also (on a non-so-well-known) level. We did like her paintings and proudly own several of them that she gifted us.Her passing has brought back fond memories and the knowledge that Carol had accomplished more than we knew.

With heartfelt sympathy. Those we love don't go away, their memories remain in our hearts. May loving memories of Carol heal your pain.
