ALBERT EDWARD "SONNY" ROSE Albert Edward "Sonny" Rose age 88 of Wilmington died Sunday, December 27, 2020. Sonny was born on June 9, 1932 in Rocky Mount, NC. Sonny was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He owned and operated Coastal Well Drilling for many years until his retirement. Sonny was proud to be a member of MENSA Society for many years. Remembered is Sonny's wife, Betty Coghill Rose who passed away October 26, 2020; his parents, John Albert Rose and Lula Rooks Rose; brother John Robert Rose and sister, Carolyn Rose Oliver Freeman. Sonny is survived by his children from his first marriage, Larry, Sonny, and Karen; brother, Larry W. Rose and wife Diane; sister in-law Karen Rose along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, January 4, 2021 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel led by Rev. J. D. Herchenhahn. Burial will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
