Mary Pater Obituary
Mary "Cora" E. Pater, 80, of Wilmington, NC, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born in New Hanover Co., on September 14, 1928, the daughter of the late James Edward and Mattie Lee Hufham King. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kenneth Pater, granddaughter, Kimberly Pridgen, a twin sister, Martha King, and two brothers, William and James King. Mrs. Pater was a member of Wrightsboro United Methodist Church.
Surviving are six sons, A.C. Pridgen (Julie) of Leland, NC, Robert Pridgen (Jeannette) of Wilmington, NC, Kenneth Pater of Dallas, TX, Darrell Pater of Phoenix, AZ, Keith Pater (Mary) of Raleigh, NC and Jeff Pater (Pat) of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters, Juanita Isenberg (Jay) of Wilmington, NC and Carolyn Benoist of Ripley, TN; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren; four sisters, Lena Paulter of Castle Hayne, NC, Emma Byrd of Rocky Point, NC, Margaret Eason (Eugene) and Loretta Rawel of Wilmington, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church by Rev. William Haddock and Rev. Chris Wroten. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Toby, Bobby, and Jamie Pridgen, Michael Isenberg, Don and Charles Herzig, and Ethan Waldow.

Although I couldn't be at the funeral, my thoughts and prayers are with all my family. Aunt Cora & I had a nice visit last time I was home. That's how I will always remember her. She was a wonderful person.
