So very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Hess. I was fortunate enough to have a number of good teachers who inspired me when I was growing up. Mr. Hess was one of the great ones.

Mr. Hess was by far my favorite teacher. My dad knew him as they were both educators in the local system. He made history interesting for me. He encouraged students to seek the truths revealed in our history. Kind, involved, benevolent.I pray for his family and hope they are comforted during this time of grief.

What a nice guy and really a great teacher very entertaining way he had about himself in class. He opened up a lot of the world to us kids. R.I.P Mr. Hess

When I was a student at Fords Junior High, Mr. Hess was a favorite teacher that I never was lucky enough to have...and then many years later, I had the pleasure of teaching right next door to him for almost 10 years. When I moved to Maine in 1987, he and his wife visited me and I went to their camp for a visit. He was a very special man. I extend my greatest sympathy to his wife Ellie and to his family. I was also friends with his brother Raynard for many years. Rest in peace, Maynard!

My heart goes out to you. I had no idea of Maynard's situation. I remember when we were at Retreat together a few years ago, you said you thought it was the last time you'd be able to leave him because he just wasn't himself.
