Albert Sabol Obituary

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Albert Sabol, age 92, died Thursday at Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility. Mr. Sabol was born in Millis, Mass., but had lived in Statesboro for the last 37 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a flight engineer in the Army Air Corps and also was a Purple Heart recipient.
Mr. Sabol later worked for General Electric for 25 years and then Cooper Wiss in Statesboro as a senior manufacturing engineer, retiring years later.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Sabol; and his brothers, Bill Sabol, Walter Sabol, Alex Sabol, Joseph Sabol, and Leo Sabol; and his close nephew, Leon Sabol.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Eric Clairmont of Fayetville, N.C.; his granddaughter, Teresa (Ricky) Garcia; and his great-grandchildren, Ashley and Zachary Garcia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 201 South Main Street Suite A, Statesboro, GA 30348.
