James Player Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. James Guy "Jimmy" Player Jr. entered into rest June 22, 201 I at Golden Living Rehab. Mr. James Guy "Jimmy" Player Jr., son of the late James Guy Player Sr. and Louise Fincher Player. He was a native of Sumter, S.C., and had lived in the Augusta area for the past 20 years. He was a Baptist and a Mason. He was retired from Wheelers in Statesboro, Ga.
Survivors include confidant and friend, Lenda S. Fulcher, Augusta, Ga.; one daughter, Amanda Player, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sons, Phil Player (Gina), Winston-Salem, N.C., Tony Player (Gail) and Alex Player, Sumter, S.C.; three brothers, J.D. Player (Juanita), Bobby Player (Mary), Ronnie Player, Lynchburg, S.C.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at McNeill Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Griggs officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Frank DeRoller, Guy Player, Jamie Player, Andrew Maddox, George Lavernway, Marion Huggins, Tanner McBride and Patrick Player.
The family will receive friends at McNeill Funeral Home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
