David Chiang Obituary

David Chiang
Austin - David Chiang passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, in Austin, Texas with his wife Irene by his side after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on April 16, 1956 in Marshall, Texas to Jimmy and Lilian Chiang. David was a 1974 graduate of Marshall High School after which he enlisted in the Army. Upon completion of his service in 1980, David graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He moved to Austin, Texas in 1986 where he met the love of his life, Irene, and they were married on September 11, 1988. David earned his Masters of Human Resource Development from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. David and Irene were blessed with their daughter Sarah in 1995 and son Thomas in 1997. David worked at Motorola for many years and then for the federal government, where he retired in December, 2020.
David was predeceased by his mother, Lilian Chiang, and brother, Eugene Chiang. Leaving to cherish David's life and memory are his beloved wife Irene, daughter Sarah Pepin (Michael), and son Thomas, sisters Gloria Chiang, Jimmie Lee Tapley (Bob), and Beverly Branam (Donny), brother Cary Chiang, and sisters-in-law, Anne Kochhan, Gerti Frieling (Ernst), and Donna Chiang. Those left to honor David's life also include his nieces Kate Branam, Chloe Chiang, and Callie Chiang, as well as nephews Sascha Frieling, Tyler Tapley, Ross Tapley, and Adam Chiang.
David brought so much love, laughter, and joy to all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and marvelous sense of humor.
David will be interred at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas where a private memorial service will be held.
