David Scott Gordon, age 67, of Kyle/ Quitman, Texas passed away peacefully after his long battle with ALS on March 25, 2017 at 9:30 PM at his home in Quitman, Texas. Dave was born on August 16, 1949, to Robert Franklin and Grace (Graham) Gordon in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Dave spent his life working passionately for fellow veterans as a Data Systems Analyst for Veterans Affairs in Austin, Texas. He proudly served his country as an Army war veteran in Vietnam. As a motorcycle enthusiast, Dave met his wife Denyse (Parnell) while purchasing a motorcycle, and together they spent years enjoying the hill country of central Texas. Dave was an avid hunter and outdoorsman; he enjoyed annual hunting trips to Wyoming and to his deer lease in Mason, Texas. Dave was a giving man who had long lasting relationships with friends whom he considered family as far back as childhood. He was loyal and loving.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gordon.

He is survived by his wife, Denyse Gordon of Quitman; son, Scott Gordon of Austin; mother, Grace Gordon of Green Acres, Florida; sister, Janis Hoewing of Green Acres, Florida; aunt, Marian Gordon of Derry, PA; and nephew Matthew Hoewing of Wellington, Florida.

A memorial celebration will take place on May 6, 2017 at Ruby Ranch Lodge in Buda, TX. Time TBA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALSTexas.org.
