Hilario Castillo Obituary

Hilario (Larry) Castillo Sr. Sept. 28, 1940 - Aug. 8, 2008 Our beloved Hilario (Larry) Castillo Sr., age 67, resident of Tow, Texas and formerly of Austin, Texas, was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 8, 2008 after a courageous battle with nasal-pharyngeal cancer. Despite his limited education, Mr. Castillo was very proud of his accomplishments during his lifetime. He completed police academy training and become a law enforcement officer in Massachusetts, where he worked with the Brockton School Police Department. Another achievement was obtaining his private investigator license. These are just a few examples of how he took opportunities to better himself and his life. Their love of travel took Mr. Castillo and his wife Virginia camping, fishing, traveling to various parts of the United States. Mr. Castillo is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Virginia Vallejo Castillo; daughters Patricia Chavez (Adam) and Rosalinda Reyna (Alfredo); daughter- in-law Diane Castillo; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Paul (Howard), Stephanie Keener (Donnie), Frances Hinojosa (Roy); brother Eddie Gonzales; aunt Barbara Beicher (James); uncle Jose Angel Bermea (Diane); aunt Janie Saldivar (Carlos); numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Isidro Castillo; mother Maria Ester Bermea Gonzales; son Larry Castillo II and great-grandson David Medina Jr. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Seton Highland Lakes Hospice and friends for their support during this most difficult time. Recitation of Holy Rosary 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South). Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Monday at San Jose Catholic Church 2435 Oak Crest. To view memorial on-line, visit www.missionmemorials.com
