Irene BAILEY Obituary

BAILEY, Irene Louise Irene Louise Bailey died on 12/01/2017 in Cedar Park, TX after a long exceptional life. She was born 12/29/1918 to Lee Austin and Minnie Boyles Hood in Dustin, OK and was raised and educated in Mt. Vernon, WA. Widowed by the death of her first husband, Elbert L. Newman, in Joliet, IL she moved to Duncan, OK with three young daughters where she began a career in the oil industry first in the mechanical engineering dept. at Halliburton and later as a well spotter with Koch Oil. After marrying business owner/inventor,Detroit E. Bailey, she partnered and helped manage the business. After Mr. Bailey's death, she moved to Cedar Park with their son where she worked six years in the engineering dept. at Westinghouse before retiring. She bought a country home with giant oaks, spacious grounds and abundant wild flowers where she spent her remaining years. She is survived by daughters from her first marriage: Lee Shaver, Mary Cohron, Ruth Runyan (Larry); a son from her second marriage, Cliff Bailey (Carol); seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. On 12/29/2017 our beautiful mother's life was celebrated privately at her home by loving family. Donations for animal welfare would honor her memory.

Irene was like a second mom to me. She will be missed greatly. I know she is ok though. She is with the LORD now.

You are forever in my heart and we're the most amazing grandmother I could have ever asked for. You will be missed and never forgotten.

What a wonderful Angel God has gained. We all have her to watch over us now and what an awesome family reunion it will be when we all join her some day. The circle will be unbroken.
