James Royster Obituary


Family-Placed Obituary

James N. Royster died in Austin, TX, after a long battle with Parkinsons' Disease on July 4, 2004. He was born in Henderson, KY, on May 25, 1925, to Ida Mae and Cecil Royster. His father, mother, and sister, Helen Breslow, precede him in death. Survivors include wife, Suzanne; daughter, Robin Ann, M.D., and her daughter, Shannon; son, Greg, Prof. Eng., and daughter-in-law, Deborah, and their children, Colleen and Sean; brother, George; sister, Marian, and her husband, Boynton; sister, Virginia Levy; and a close friend of the family, Felix Stungevicius, of Chicago. Jim served four years in the Armed Service, graduated from Evansville University where he met and married Suzanne. His dedicated and professional career as a CPA spanned over 40 years having retired as a Comptroller of Singer Corp. in Chicago. Twenty-eight years were spent in Arlington Heights, IL. Following this, their retirement has been in Austin, TX. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to friends, neighbors, Hospice of Austin, Christopher House and the Acolytes from St. Louis Church. Memorial Services will be held at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78759, in his memory.
