I've been fortunate enough to know Dick since my family moved next door to him and his family in 1967. Becky, Rocky, and us Murphy boys frequently rode to school in Dripping Springs together.
Dick, as former ranch foreman for the property my dad purchased, always had some pertinent advice to help my father along with our ranch.
i feel extremely fortunate to have known Dick all these years, and also to have grown up with his kids, who like me, are no longer "kids."
Godspeed, Dick, we'll all keep you in our hearts until we're hearing another story from you in heaven.

Mr. Schencks was truly a light in our families' life. He shared in many good times around our dinner table, singing and making music on our porches, and gracing us with his presence. You will will be missed but never forgotten.

Dick will forever be in my thoughts and his family in my prayers. I have only know Dick for a few short years. Working beside him at Kingsbury allowed me to truly realize what a special person he was. My life was enriched by our friendship.

My words cannot do Dick any real justice! I've known him for quite a few years building airplanes at Kingsbury and he was universally loved and respected by all. Dick also had more energy than many of us younger guys! Irreplacable indeed! Never heard him play the harmonica though, so we didn't really get to enjoy all his passions and talents. God speed, Dick!

Dick, I knew from the first time we had a conversation I would cherish our meetings. You were so kind and welcoming when I first became volunteer at Kingsbury Aerodrome. True gentleman. I'll miss you.

I knew Dick for just about a year since I started volunteering out at Kingsbury. He had such a wonderful affect on others everytime he came there. People would always put down what they were doing to talk and listen to him. He had such amazing stories. I especially liked his "last Texas cattledrive" story. I will miss him sincerely.

I started going to Kingsbury in July of 2007. Dick was almost always there with a smile on his face and a kind word for everybody. He had fascinating stories to tell of his youth which I really enjoyed. I will truly miss him.
