Kenieth "Ken" Allan Linse, passed away on October 21, 2023 in Spokane, WA at the age of 60. Ken was born on July 13, 1963 in Bellingham, WA the son of Mrs. Betty L. Ross.
He was the 6th of seven children in his family and learned to be independent and self sufficient at an early age. At 14, he left home to find work and began working his way across the United States. Ken worked for a time as a surveyor in Colorado and then took local work opportunities in communities as he worked his way to the east coast. At the age of 20, he moved north to Alaska and began commercial crabbing and fishing. Five yeans later, he returned to Washington State where he met Ms. Susan D. Phillips on a social outing and true love walked into his heart. They were married a year later, on July 15, 1990. He took on the immediate role as a husband and father of three young children with open arms, a devoted heart, and a willingness to do "whatever it takes". Ken worked tirelessly to provide and protect his family. He made sure their needs were met by working wherever work was needed to include cutting firewood, selling Christmas Trees, running his own landscaping company and managing commercial properties. He learned life lessons early… hard work, long days, a steadfast character, perseverance and became a man with the humble ability to know and grow in patience, kindness, generosity and love. He moved to Colville, WA in 2017 and opened the "Pour House". It was a place where family, friends and colleagues could gather, share company, a glass from the rotating taps, and a good food with their signature recipes and ingredients for an excellent experience. He and his family operated the business until 2019 when they sold and turned their attention new adventures.
Ken began to walk in the faith of Christ when he was six years old after attending church with his Grandma Vi. He started two "Bikers for Christ" churches while in Western Washington. He had a passion for Christ and the outdoors and loved to embrace the peace and unmatched majesty of God's goodness through nature. He was an avid hunter and shared his knowledge of hunting, fishing and camping with his family every year. Ken was a jack-of-all-trades from economics, electronics, car repair, and chainsaw carpentry and if he didn't know how, he knew there was a book or manual that could help. He had a quiet spirit of advice and would walk to the end of the earth to meet the needs of his family. Above all, he reached to the bible and turned the pages in which he found grace, wisdom and peace in his walk with Christ.
Ken was preceded in death by his two brothers in law, Jerry Phillips and Wayne Lucas.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Linse of Colville, WA; daughters, Julie Gibbons and husband, Zane of Colville, WA, Stephanie Epic of the Spokane Valley, WA; son, James Linse and wife, Amanda of Blaine, WA; grandchildren, Kestin, Addison, Tate, Nine, Ruby, Zion, Lily and Tayce; siblings, Violet Lucas, MaryJo Cain, Kathi Scott, Rinne Cain, Debbie Cain, Cammi Cleaver and husband Ed; his mom, Betty L Ross; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
