John Paul Rimer

John Paul Rimer, 92, of St. Augustine, passed away Oct. 11, 2017, at his home. His wife and love of his life for 73 wonderful years, Ruth, preceded him in death just two months ago.

John was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Detroit to the late John and Martha Rimer. He moved to St. Augustine in 1970 from Michigan. He was a member of Trinity Chapel and served in their food pantry and then Good Shepherd Ministries where his son, Donald Rimer is pastor. He also served as a board member with Good Shepherd Ministries. John was a construction superintendent, having worked for Turner Bush Construction for many years building Zales Jewelry and many other chain stores in malls throughout the country. He then began working for Trinity Broadcasting Network building television stations around the United States until his retirement.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his children, Gloria Trimble (Terrence), Sylvia Stahl, Donald Rimer (Carla), and Cheryl Rodriguez (Israel); nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life for both John and Ruth Rimer will take place at 3 p.m. on Nov. 19 at Good Shepherd Ministries, 4430 U.S. Hwy. 1 South, St. Augustine.
