Barbara Bjorkman Obituary
She was born on August 12, 1937, in St. Paul, MN to Arthur and Lorraine (Proulx) Behr.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Arthur; mother, Lorraine; and husband, John.
Barbara is survived by her six children, Nan (James) Tate, Mary (Douglas) Christenson, Art (Lori) Bjorkman, Jack (Ima) Bjorkman, Beth (Andres`) Zeller and Mindy (David) Burkart. In addition to her children, Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love through her 12 grandchildren, Nichole, Bryan, Brent, Scott, Kristen, Molly, Brandon, Megan, Francesca, Alden, Ada and Adelyn; as well as her 12 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Faith, Tyson, Averi, Nora, Kenley, Nolan, Clara, Aiden, Leighton, Kyla and Sullivan; brothers, Bill, Dave, and Steve.
Barbara had a passion for dancing and was skilled in sewing and furniture refinishing. She cherished simple pleasures like enjoying a strong cup of coffee, a raised glazed donut, and sharing jokes with friends. She also loved having a beer in the shade of the garage with friends and exchanging funny cards with her brother Dave. Some of her fondest memories were made during travels, including a memorable trip to the Boundary Waters.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Lakeview Hospice for their compassionate support and care during Barbara's illness. They would also like to thank The Lakes Resident Care and staff for their dedication, assistance and drop in visits.
In accordance with Barbara's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Instead, close family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate her life and share cherished memories.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who know her. May she rest in peace.
