I feel privileged to have known and worked with Jack at IBM. He was truly a professional with a great sense of humor. Jack's word was golden...when he said something would be done, you could take his words to the bank. Jack was not only a business colleague, but he was a friend to all who worked with him.

It was a privilege to have known and worked with Jack at IBM. Jack was truly a professional, and was always firm but fair in dealing with issues. His word was golden. I feel fortunate to have known him and to have worked with him.

Scott/Alan, Your dad was one fine human being.. I recall he was one of the most intellegent people I have ever met. He was generous with his time, he was a great mentor and just fun to be around. Scott, one of my favorite memories of your dad was when you and I had built this gas powered plane and rigged up a crude auto pilot by linking a weight to a bell crank to the elevator that gave the plane auto pitch control. It was a complete failure until your dad came home from work and told us it was not good idea to let this thing free fly the neighborhood. We assured him it was a failure and proceded to demonstrate. We soon discovered we had worked the bugs out and with your dad we together witnessed a spectacular flight that ended with impact into your neighbors garage door. Your dad calmly told us to go pay the neighbor a visit. I'll never forget the look on his face. I used your dad as a reference in my pursuit of a job at IBM and have enjoyed a 30 year career so far...I couldn't have had a better reference. I feel blessed to have known him. You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.

My love and support go out to Alan, Scott and their families. I have a ton of wonderful memories of our life together at Table Rock Lake as well as all the family get-togethers at each other houses. Our parents are now together playing cards, drinking martini's and watching over us in a new and different way. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers during this time of mourning.

Scott & Candice, Alan and family:
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Jack is already missed. I have many great memories of Jack, Chris, and Scott. Both Chris and Jack were always very nice and hospitable to me. I will never forget them or how comfortable they always made me feel. Always a joke and/or a laugh while at their home. Let's not forget Heritage House!
God Bless.

Alan and Scott, I am certainly sorry to hear of your father’s passing; my prayers have been and are with you.

Jack and I were the first IBM engineers trained on the 1401 System back in 1959 and after we returned to St. Louis we worked together some way nearly everyday until I moved to Poughkeepsie in 1963. He was an extremely gifted engineer and it was my pleasure to work with him. My wife and I lived on the north side of St. Louis, but we still managed to go out often with Harry and Anita and Jack and Chris. We have a lot of good memories of those days.

You should be very proud of the kind of guy that your dad was with his customers and especially with all of his many friends.

Jack was our close and cherished friend for over 50 years and we knew him as a proud husband and father, a true, loyal and respected IBMer who served as a mentor to many, always had a joke to tell, was a great bowler, a so-so fisherman, an avid boater, a halfway decent water skier and who just loved lake life. He had so many other skills and attributes ... there are so many more stories and quips like this to relate, but not enough room to write them all. We will cherish our memories forever and will close by saying that we mourn his passing with heavy hearts, but know that we will meet again someday in God's kingdom. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of grief.
