My family and I are very sad to see this memorial page for Michele. We only knew Michele because of a common interest in Golden Retrievers, and sadly, not for very long, but we knew how genuine her heart was and I feel blindsided that she is gone.
Today, I went searching for information about her because the last time she and I traded e-mail was late 2017, after we visited her at her home in Tempe. You see, her dog, Abigail, was the sister of our dog, Mollie. Mollie passed in April of 2017 but we wanted to keep in touch with Michele so that we could see Abby when we were in the area. We were only able to get to Tempe (we live near Tucson) once to see Abby after Mollie's passing, but now I'm so thankful for that opportunity.
I had sent Michele an e-mail in June of 2019, wishing Abby a happy birthday, but never got a response. Today I resolved to find out what was going on and now I know. It sounds like, from what others have posted here, that Abigail is no longer living, as well, and that is heartbreaking, but I knew that if she was still living, she would have to be roughly 16 years old. Goldens tend not to do that.
I know Michele and I got our Golden girls from Rescue A Golden of AZ, so it surprises me to see another rescue as the recipient of flowers, especially since their Web site is non-functional. I will continue to try and send a donation in her memory, however.
I have included a picture of Mollie and Abigail at one of the RAG/SAGRR functions in Tucson in 2014, I'm guessing. Despite the sadness, I'm happy that Mollie, Abigail, and Michele are together once again.

Michele was intelligent, humorous, magnanimous, boisterous, and every other fabulous superlative you could think of to describe her. There really isn't adequate verbiage to encompass the person that she was or an eloquent way to represent what she meant to so many people.
Michele loved to travel and explore, she was always up for an adventure with friends and family. SCUBA diving was one of her favorite sports and she was able to dive some amazing places around the world. She was elected as President of the Evergreen Neighborhood Association in Tempe, Arizona, diligently volunteering her time to make her neighborhood inclusive and welcoming to everyone who lived there. In 2018 she was even nominated for the Neighbor of the Year award given out by the City of Tempe. Michele also loved to volunteer for Arizona Golden Rescue, a charity close to her heart. After facing and overcoming her fear of dogs, she became an awesome dog mom to Golden Retrievers Lester, Cedar and Abigail. She was also a foster to various Goldens helping them find their forever homes through AGR. In lieu of flowers for her memorial her family requested donations to Arizona Golden Rescue, Michele would be happy to know that her favorite charity was still being supported.
Literally nobody was a stranger to Michele, she could and would chat with anyone (she did not heed the warning of stranger danger!). It didn't matter if you knew Michele for years or just hours, she was the real deal, the most genuine person you could meet. Her gregariousness and enthusiasm for life was contagious. There are very few people who come into your life and make the world a better place, Michele was definitely one of those people. Without her there is a little less light in this world, and she will be missed.

Although I'm a newer friend of just a few years, I valued our friendship dearly. I was so sad to hear about this. You have been in my thoughts and prayers for months now.
You will be so greatly missed as you have been on our girls lunches. I'll miss your humor and wit, kindness and love, strength and wisdom. You were such a treat to get to know.
