Georgia Mae Ellis Singleton, 89, died August 4, 2014. She was a faithful member of St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church where she was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Singleton, Sr.; father, W. Curtis Ellis; mother & step-father, Zenobia & John Blackwell; two daughters, Jewel Singleton, Charmaine Singleton; two brothers, Adam Blackwell, Wayne Blackwell and one sister Mary Lois Ellis Thomas.

Mrs. Singleton is survived by three sons, Maurice (Vonretta ) Singleton, Jr., Roderick (Treasure) Singleton, Sr., Craig (Lisa) Singleton; eight daughters, Glenda Singleton-Beal, Sharon Singleton, Rhoda Singleton, Shelley (Honore, Jr.) Hazeur, Cynthia (Luther) Traylor, Carol Singleton, Gina (Norvel) Shelby, Dione Singleton Woods; a sister, Cynthia Blackwell Maze; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass: 10 am, Monday, August 11, 2014, St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church. Visitation: 9 am. Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery. Sign registry at lockettwilliams.com.

Georgia and her husband were like family. They were two of my top 10 most admired people. They worked so hard and did a wonderful job raising there many beautiful children. Rest in peace, Georgia. You deserve it.
