Lanny Joseph "Buzzy" Rodriguez, 82, was born in Biloxi, MS, on April 1, 1936. He passed away after a long battle with cancer on July 23, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Rodriguez, Jr. and Althea Parker Rodriguez, and a sister, Patricia "Patsy" Hurlbert.
He is survived by two sisters, Joan Holley and Judy Eleuterius, and a brother Raymond "Danny" Rodriguez.
His love for his country and being outdoors on the water led him to his career in the military. He traveled the world while in the United States Navy, the US Coast Guard, and the US Merchant Marines. After leaving the military, he returned to his home in Biloxi where he lived out the remainder of his life. He loved music and playing guitar, cooking, and going fishing. He never married nor had any children of his own, but he loved his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews very much. He had one Goddaughter, Stacey Eleuterius Barber. He will be greatly missed.
